Social Justice Poem

Social Justice Poem

By: Harris Bernstein

They see us walk out
we’re having a good time

They see us talk and laugh
yeah, it’s all sublime

They stop it all with
a beckoning motion

Those dips pull us over
(that’s right they have that notion)

That we’re not innocent, that we're just a scum bunch of teens
We drink and steal yeah, (we’re so unclean)

They checked our bags and looked through every personal pocket
Were so helpless what can we do (just mock it)

We (teens that is) are so helpless
we’re like tiny ants

The police, the neighbors, our parents don’t trust us
just give us another chance.
