Legalizing Love

You beat abuse and violate
you speak only of anger and hate
you break the body and abuse the soul
and even if you can't i can see the toll
And to think! you excuse it all
You say its your religion, it calls
for your twisted justice
All over who someone chooses to kiss
But I've read your bible, and what it says about matrimony
all that "man and woman" baloney
Yet it makes no restriction on love
and it doesnt command you to push and shove
I was taught that marriage is about love and commitment
and about putting that into a legal print
It is time to end the bigotry
so gay people dont need to flee
its time to start protesting, with unavoidable civil disobediance
and get new ideas through heads so dense
because people cant be disposed of
so lets legalize gay marriage, and legalize love
